Alonso Cueto
Writer born on April 30, 1954 in Lima, Peru. He has published novels, books of short stories, plays and stories for children. His stories are set in crucial periods of Peruvian history, from the viceregal era to the decisive episodes of modern Peru, such as the fall of Alberto Fujimori's government and the crisis produced by the rise of the terrorist group Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) between 1980 and 2000. His genres range from historical to detective novels, with an emphasis on themes such as guilt, heroism, redemption and the conflicts of a divided society. He has published more than 30 books, including "Grandes Miradas" (Random House edition 2019) , "El Susurro de la Mujer Ballena" (Random House edition 2019), "La Hora Azul", winner of the Herralde Novel Prize in 2005 and adapted to film in 2014 (Random House editions, 2017) "La Perricholi" (Random House edition, 2019) and the novel "Palabras de Otro Lado", winner of the 2019 Juan Goytisolo Prize, published by Galaxia Gutemberg.

Alonso Cueto was born on April 30, 1954 in Lima, Peru. His father was the philosopher and educator Carlos Cueto Fernandini. His mother was Lilly Caballero Elbers, an educator and a promoter of children's literacy. Alonso showed a passion for reading and writing at an early age, especially after discovering the poet César Vallejo.

Pale sky
The story that gives the title to this volume is set in the days before the explosion of the Shining Path terrorist group in Tarata Street, Lima, on July 16, 1992. The couple of protagonists and their families revolve around this event whose consequences will reveal their identities. Other stories such as "Labor Day" and "What they told me about Cecilia" have been widely anthologized and commented on.
